Darron Spak and Coltyn Bard led Piper’s team of Pirates to the state championship in bowling. Piper finished with a team score of 3522, 48 points clear of Wichita's Trinity Academy.
Spak's 732 series was good for third place in the individual standings, and Bard scored a 698 to finish sixth. Rounding out the team were Brandon Dark (597), Major Macias (434), Landon Dissmeyer (627) and Brody Merrick (566).
The Turner Golden Bears finished 11th as a team, with a score of 2925, and WYCO champion Rhett Ryman bowled a 715 series to finish fifth. Ryman bowled the high game for the tournament, an incredible 298 in his third game. Also competing for the Golden Bears: Cameron DeFries (383), Austin Crabtree (450), Phoenix Martin (554), Lukas Reynolds (414), and Benjamin Huyett (484).
Schlagle's Braxton Burnau qualified as an individual, and posted a 513 series. Piper’s Cambria Anderson qualified as an individual in the girls’ tournament and posted a 485 series.
